Bare Skin Care is a subscription service supplying razors for women.  Shaving is a chore and an uncomfortable taboo for many women. For others still, shaving expresses a conformity to conventions of beauty that are at best, unrealistic, and at worst, oppressive.  Many shaving brands reinforce a strict gender binary, where razors for women are pink, pastel, and the women featured in ads and packaging are already hairless, thin, and sexual objects. I sought to design a brand that would appeal to young women, and provide a quality user experience from first exploring the website, to the moment she receives her first package. I used illustration and texture to take the focus away from women’s bodies and focus more on the skin soothing ingredients of the products.
